Tiles

What types of tiles does ROYAL manufacture?

We manufacture a wide range of vitrified, porcelain, and ceramic tiles for walls and floors—suitable for indoor and outdoor use across residential, commercial, institutional, industrial, hospitality, and public spaces.

Our tiles are available in diverse sizes such as 60x120cm, 80x80cm, 60x60cm, 40x40cm, 30x60cm, and 30x45cm to complement every style and requirement.

What is the difference between vitrified, porcelain, and ceramic tiles?

Vitrified tiles are highly durable, available in glossy and matt, and suitable for heavy-traffic areas.

Porcelain tiles are dense, water-resistant, and versatile for both indoor and outdoor use.

Ceramic tiles are economical and best for walls and light-traffic floors.

How do I choose the right tile for a particular area?

Tile selection depends on the application and usage of the space. Choosing the right tile ensures durability, safety, and long-lasting aesthetics.

Living Rooms & Bedrooms
Opt for vitrified, porcelain, or glazed ceramic tiles — they balance style, comfort, and durability.

Bathrooms & Kitchens
Use anti-slip ceramic tiles, matte or sugar finish tiles, or vitrified tiles with matte finish to ensure safety and hygiene.

Outdoor Areas (driveways, walkways, terraces)
Select full body vitrified or ceramic tiles with anti-skid or sugar finish textures for maximum durability and slip resistance.

Commercial & Industrial Spaces
Install full body vitrified or full body ceramic tiles designed to withstand heavy usage while maintaining strength, durability, and wear resistance.

What are full body ceramic Tiles?

Full Body Ceramic Tiles are manufactured with color, pattern, and design running through the entire thickness of the tile. This uniform composition makes them highly durable, scratch-resistant, and long-lasting, as chips or surface wear remain less noticeable over time.

Where can full body ceramic tiles be used?

They are ideal for residential, commercial, and industrial spaces that demand strength and durability, including:

  • Airports, malls, and railway stations
  • Commercial spaces and showrooms

  • Outdoor areas (walkways, driveways, patios)

  • High-traffic residential floors

  • Industrial floors requiring extra strength

How do I choose between full body ceramic tiles and vitrified tiles?

Full Body Ceramic Tiles → Best suited for very high-traffic areas where scratches or chips are likely, since their uniform composition makes wear less visible.

Vitrified Tiles → Denser, less porous, and often available in glossy finishes, making them popular for residential and commercial interiors where a sleek, elegant look is preferred.

Do full body or vitrified tiles require special maintenance?

No. Both options are low-maintenance and easy to clean. Regular sweeping and mopping with water and mild detergent are sufficient. Avoid harsh acids or strong chemicals, as they can damage the surface or reduce the shine over time.

Marbles & Granites

Does ROYAL supply natural marbles and granites?

Yes. ROYAL offers premium-quality natural marbles and granites sourced and processed for residential, commercial, and luxury projects.

What is the difference between marble and granite?

Marble is elegant, smooth, and perfect for interiors like flooring and countertops.

Granite is harder, more durable, and ideal for kitchens, stairs, and outdoor applications.

How do I maintain marble and granite surfaces?

Clean with mild detergents, seal the surface periodically, and avoid acidic substances to preserve natural beauty.

Adhesive & Grout

Which tile adhesive should I use for my tile installation?

ROYAL Adhesive Premium Gold – Premium Gold has higher bonding strength and flexibility, designed for heavy-duty applications. Best for large tiles, slabs, marbles, and granites.

ROYAL Adhesive Classic Silver – Classic Silver is best suited for medium-sized wall & floor tiles.

Product Installation

How to Install ROYAL Tiles?

Step-by-Step Guidelines for a Perfect Finish

Achieve a flawless and long-lasting result with ROYAL tiles by following these recommended procedures.

Pre-Installation Preparation

  • Ensure the surface has a smooth plaster finish, cured for at least 14 days.

  • Check for arrow markings behind each tile and align them uniformly according to your layout.

  • Dry-lay tiles to confirm shade consistency and finalize your arrangement.

Shade Variation Notice
Slight shade differences are natural due to production. Always mix tiles from multiple cartons for a more uniform blend.

Installation Steps

1. Surface Preparation

  • Substrate must be clean, dry, level, and free of cracks.

  • Repair any defects before installation.

2. Apply Bedding Mortar

  • Spread a 20–30 mm layer of bedding mortar over approx. 1 m² at a time.

3. Prepare ROYAL Tile Adhesive

  • Mix according to package instructions for best bonding strength.

4. Spread the Adhesive

  • Use a notched trowel to apply adhesive in small sections.

  • Use adhesive within 30–60 minutes of mixing.

5. Back-Butter the Tiles

  • Apply a thin slurry layer on the back of each tile for enhanced adhesion.

6. Lay the Tiles

  • Place tiles gently and tap into position with a rubber mallet.

  • Never use metal tools as they can damage the tile surface.

7. Cutting & Edge Finishing

  • Position cut tiles along edges or corners for cleaner results.

8. Tile Spacing

  • Use 2–5 mm spacers between tiles for even joints, in line with international standards.

9. Curing Time

  • Allow tiles to cure undisturbed for 48 hours before grouting or walking on them.

Grouting Process

  • Use ROYAL Tile Grout to fill joints after tiles are fully cured.

  • Wait 15 minutes, then wipe off excess grout with a damp sponge.

  • Polish with a soft dry cloth for a smooth, clean finish.

Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Clean tiles with mild detergents.

  • Avoid using hydrofluoric acid or compounds as they permanently damage tiles.

How to Apply ROYAL Adhesive?

Step-by-Step Guide for a Strong, Lasting Bond

Ensure efficient, safe, and professional tile installation by following these recommended application techniques for ROYAL® Tile Adhesive.

Surface Preparation

  • Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from dust, oil, grease, or debris.

  • Do not apply adhesive on wet, oily, or dirty surfaces.

  • Check for cracks or holes — the substrate must be level and properly screeded where necessary for optimal adhesion.

Mixing the Adhesive

  • Mix one 20kg bag of ROYAL® Tile Adhesive with 5 litres of clean water to achieve a smooth, creamy paste.

  • Do not exceed or reduce the water ratio, and avoid uneven mixing, as this weakens bonding strength.

Application Timing

  • Apply the adhesive within 20 minutes after mixing (known as the “open time”).

  • Do not use adhesive beyond this period, as it will begin to set and lose effectiveness.

During Application

  • Wear protective gloves, goggles, and a face mask to avoid direct skin or eye contact.

  • In case of contact with adhesive, wash immediately with clean water. If irritation persists, seek medical attention promptly.

  • Do not ignore any warning signs of irritation or chemical exposure.

Storage Instructions

  • Store adhesive in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place.

  • Keep bags off damp floors, preferably raised and covered with plastic sheeting to prevent moisture absorption.

Safety First

  • Always follow safety instructions and proper installation procedures — avoid shortcuts.

  • When in doubt, consult a professional tiler for best results.

Trust ROYAL® — for stronger bonds and longer-lasting finishes.

How to Apply ROYAL Grout?

Surface Preparation

Before application, ensure the following:

  • Tile adhesive is fully set and dried.

  • Tiles are firmly fixed and properly aligned.

  • Tile joints are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, or other contaminants.

Caution

  • Avoid contact with eyes or sensitive skin.

  • In case of irritation, rinse immediately with clean water and seek medical attention if necessary.

  • Always perform a patch test on a small tile section to evaluate surface porosity and product compatibility.

Important Note on Colour Matching

  • While every effort is made to maintain uniformity, slight colour variations may occur due to manufacturing and site conditions.

  • Using a grout admix may darken the final colour.

  • For lighter shades, blend with a white grout compound if required.

Coverage Area

Coverage depends on:

  • Tile size

  • Joint width and depth

For accurate estimates, please refer to our coverage chart or consult a ROYAL technical advisor.
